the Internet is a great way of communication for young teens and adults, as discussed in the PBS presentation. It creates an Independence for young teens, which can lead to either positive or negative outcomes. With the adults out of the picture and sometimes quite clueless, online technology can become inappropriate. It can also become an addictive outlet, being glued to your computer 24/7 cant be to good for you either. Kids should have actual contact with their friends as well, there is something missing in this virtual world , where everyone communicates online. Its not the same type of relationship one can have in person, its just not as intimate. And things tend to get lost in translation.

  2. I totally agree with the idea that the Internet can create some sort of independence for young teens. That is a great positve point that hardly spoke out to me. Teens may feel a bit constricted because of all the authority over them, in school, at home, etc. However too much of anything can have negative outcomes which you also said as well. The Internet usage for teens should be used in moderation and parents should consider how many hours they spend on the computer. Great points!
