the Internet is a great way of communication for young teens and adults, as discussed in the PBS presentation. It creates an Independence for young teens, which can lead to either positive or negative outcomes. With the adults out of the picture and sometimes quite clueless, online technology can become inappropriate. It can also become an addictive outlet, being glued to your computer 24/7 cant be to good for you either. Kids should have actual contact with their friends as well, there is something missing in this virtual world , where everyone communicates online. Its not the same type of relationship one can have in person, its just not as intimate. And things tend to get lost in translation.

The Obama campaign used social networking to help Obama win the presidential election .He was able to access people that he wouldn't have been able to get in contact with otherwise. He raised money this way , and reached out to the undecided and new voters. He mobilized teenagers and young adults to become excited and involved in his campaign.They played a major role in his election. I personally think, Obama's campaign used the technique of social networking to its utmost ability, he utilized the technology of today to help him get to his desired goal.

Ive personally have never been involved in second life, but it sounds like a great outlet for expressing ones creativity. It seems like it can reach a wide range of people, business school students who are testing out their entrepreneurial talents, as well as abused kids who can work on their social skills. Teachers are using second life as a means to connect to students, some people want to set up virtual classrooms. I'm sure many will be interested in that type of learning, its more interesting and they definitely wont be falling asleep in class this way. This virtual world that's created on second life, is a hot topic ,so..... should "second lifers" be allowed to sell virtual goods online?? well , second life doesn't mind... it puts their website on the map, it gets them noticed. How bad can that be?
